Took the forks off my 1198 for revalving to my local indy Ducati specialist. Two race bikes that he sorts for customers had their switchable map ECUs damaged by using a Li Fe battery (possibly). The manufacturer of the ECUs says his sophisticated sysems aren't suitable for using with this technology. The Jury is out on this :?
His 193rwhp race bike still carries a lump of lead lOl

Littlebutquick has been running LiFe on his 1125 for the last 2seasons.
He had the vexpensive EBR one,now running a 12cell from greece, which starts the bike straight up first prod on the button. The EBR needed to be "warmed up" every stab of the button would liven it up a bit more until 3rd or 4th attempt it'd spin up properly- joe reckoned the 8cell was just too small.

I have a home made LiFePO4 monster 8cell (4s2p) battery in the Guzzi.

Many of the decent LiFePO4's are based on A123's 26650 cell rated at 2.2aH. I used the A123 32165 cell rated at 8aH per cell . The Larger cells also have a higher dump discharge rating 70C vs 60C.

Many of the cells from other mfrs do not have this dump discharge rating as they're designed more for slow discharge in electric bicycles.

Smaller than an OEM Buell battery (it's inside a old Buell battery case) - 1120 CCA.

Constant 13.2V - far more stable than the lead ones ever were. But if it's a concern fit a small lead acid(AGM/Gel) and a small LifePO4 piggybacked for starting or starting assistance.
