Yep it doesn't look that substantial considering how paranoid some people are about whether earlier shocks are safe or not ;)

Honestly, lower seat, keep it narrow; get comfortable with one foot solidly on the ground, the other up (either on rear brake or on peg/shift, depending on the situation of the stop). At a full stop, holding the pads on your hot front rotor is a bad idea, anyway.
