I need to check mine, been using the bike daily now for many weeks in all weathers, in the dry the Bridgestone dual compounds are fantastic, the wear is very good to, been on about a year, 5000 miles and still plenty left in them, in the wet though they do tend to white line and have had a few slippy moments this last week.
Riding in the wet is more a mental thing than the ability of your tyres to provide grip. You see standing water and the road appears extra bumpy protruding above the 1 cm of water, on roundabouts I still get extra twitchy and tense up which does not help. You really do need to and I am still trying to get to grips with (no pun intended) letting the bike do what its designed to do and having confidance in it and the tyres.
Probably because when younger I had a slow speed off on a wet greasy corner once, once bitten twice shy as they say.

Always found it weird why such a difference in Buell figures and tyre manufacturers. Anyone know why they're so varied?

In the pat, I think the Japlops fitted as OEM tyres were of different construction to the aftermarket replacement ones, despite having the same identification.

Yep as Adam says the oE tyres construction was lighter weight on the original dunlops compared to off the shelf ones.
Also tyres with stronger sidewalls need less pressure

Tyre pressures are as open to as much debate as the tyre choice themselves, we all ride differrently and what works for one will not work for all, much the same can be said about suspension settings - all you can do is experment to find out the optimum setting, being logical in your approach

Be careful changing down on that "slipper type clutch", many ponies under yer arse, if your riding hard and the road is greasy no matter what tyres your using you'll snake the rear end if not careful, can be fun though.

vac operated slipper clutch or not smooth riding will always beat the uneducated crash down the box approach

I still change down like it doesn't have a slipper clutch, force of habit (and it looks cool, impresses the chicks and sounds better!)

yes, I also still change down as if it were a standard gearbox, hopefully this will extend the service life considerably.
