Do you know what, I've been waiting for someone to post this as I suspected it might be the case, that part number has been available before but notes on HDnet said it was for H-D and not Buell.......but as the kit was described as a Buell part, I didn't want to say anything.
Also, I really didn't like the idea of the isolator hanging from the frame as oppossed to sitting on top.

What would I do.......that's easy, I'll be sticking with the original mount, which works just fine IMO.

I don't know if it's a model year or model issue, the notched frame. My S2T has no notch, the S1W is notched. So I have no problem sitting the new isoator atop the frame, as it is now..... at least for the S1W.

Another disadvantage of the non-notched design is that it pretty much requires the removal of the motor mount from the engine to install the new isolator from below... much more of a job, and who wants to remove those engin mount bolts if you don't have to?!

I share your concern about the isolator hanging from its two ears, Maz, but the isolator does sit on those frames with notched head-tubes (eg mine, which, TBH is all I'm worried about!) ...and I'll just turn up an ally 'tube' to sleeve the ally mount down to 7/16"... simples.
As for the UN-notched frames... could someone knowledgeable clarify which models / MYs have which...?
For the record, the two M2s I've recently checked are both notched ('98 and 2000)

'Course there's nothing wrong with new isolators - it's only when peeps let 'em get old and dry-rotted and they crack that there's a problem. I think I'd keep the old s\tyle for the S2 if it were to need one - un-notched frame - weird way of installing it. I like the new one with the notched S1W frame, though. Nice and clean.

Had some deep discussions at my local Buell dealership today and it appears that if you order an isolator kit for a tube framed Buell, you now get the L1501.8.

It may be a 7/16" bolt in a 1/2" hole, but that's the way that Buell want it...

So, it looks like the only place to get the 1/2" hole is from the big blue bird (that doesn't do mail order) on the shores of the River Tame...

Update: It is possible to bore the 7/16" hole in the new style Isolator out to 1/2"... just done it, plenty of meat there....simples. :yup:
