I'd say the difference between an engine that works and an engine that's full of shrapnel is a pretty major performance improvement :yup:

This is the gear out of a 56 plate Firebolt engine. 16K miles. It looks in good condition.

This is the uprated gear I believe.

I've 2 more to look at yet. A 23k 05 Firebolt and a 97 S1.

It'll be good to compare the three.

If anyone thinks they don't need their gear, I am more than willing to buy it back at the original purchase price.

If anyone else wants a gear, let me know, and we can get another order in.

And if you want to replace yours but are worried you may make a pigs ear of it or don't have the time etc., get on touch with :maz: , he holds stock and will be only too pleased to fit one.

Been reading the near misses posted here and think I should get this seen to. How much do the oil pump drive gears cost ? and as I'm no mechanic and live god knows how many hundred miles from Maz, I'll have to take the work to my local bike mechanic who has done excellent work on my Ducati Monster. How long will it take to fit ? just so I can judge the cost.

I'd look for a reliable independent Harley mechanic to do the gear on an S1 if you can't find or get to a good Buell one ;)
