Maybe for future reference, but you may be able to work something out with a UK UKBEGger via Paypal. For that, you can make a fee-free internat'l transfer to someone in pounds, comes out of your linked bank account in dollars, goes to recipient in pounds if you specify.
I know "UKBEG" per se is not set up to receive paypal funds directly, but I'll bet someone can help you there.
If you haven't set up Paypal yet, it is fast and easy, the only thing is it might take a couple of days for them to make 2 tiny deposits to your account that you need to confirm back to them to be able to use bank funds; otherwise, you can draw off your linked credit card right away, IIRC.

I've cleared the time with work and the wife, I'm about to post my registration. I'm an American in Germany, can I view the exchange rate and send a check for US dollars? It may prove difficult for me to send Pounds.

Lastly, should I use my German address in town or my American post office on base? I will post my registration before COB(close of business) Wednesday the 31st. I await instructions.

Joseph - we'll simplify your registration because you're overseas....

This also applies to anyone else who might like to register and is based overseas.

E-mail your registration form (or the details requested on it) to cj.buellgroup@ntlworld.com

Tomorrow, we will post your event pack to the address which is best for you.

Payment can be made by bank transfer to Jane's account or you can pay us when we meet up in Ireland. Let me know which is best for you.

At today's exchange rate £13.00 GBP = $19.50 USD or 14.55 Euro.

Thanks,

I can do paypal in any language, or I can post a check for 20 USD, or get pounds on the ground. As far as the address, everyone tells me the German post is cheap and fast, I assume there will be extra postage crossing the Channel and what. Stand by for the reg packet

Joseph - we will use Royal Mail, it's fast and efficient. Extra postage cost for shipment to Germany is peanuts so don't worry about that.

My friend Francis just joined in with his KTM, we can do the PayPal or arrive cash in hand.

That's two Yanks, I'm recruiting as hard as I can.

Ferries and hostels have been booked, so no backing out now.

To be honest we weren't sure how successful this years Buell Challenge would be, but the number of bookings has exceeded our expectations.

To date, everything that we've planned for this event has worked out OK. Filipa, a very nice lady :4roz: and our contact at Irish Ferries, has processed the discounts quickly and efficiently, and the accommodation arrangements seem to suit most of you - even if you can't get into the dormitory of your choice :hehe:...

I'm counting on a party Friday night, and Monday night, with beers or whiskey every evening. Don't dissapoint me, I've heard quite alot about how you Buell types like the drink, or was that me?

Also, I assume we've ordered sunshine and mild temperatures. I will bring raingear to ensure we stay dry, but what is the average temp, Arctic Gear or Leather Jacket and 3 season pants?

A week on an S3, I can't wait! I'm looking at a 1000km just to get to the French Ferry landing, then the sea voyage, I caught a lucky break on the return leg. The ferry schedule won't cooperate with me so I get to cut accross your island and stop at the ACE cafe or if that is a tourist trap, tell me where to go as I speed toward dover and the Wednesday ferry to Calais and back to Toy Town where everything is perfect and everybody follows the rules, or else.

Drinks - on the last night of the Challenge I will buy a round* of drinks for everyone, you won't go thirsty.

Weather - it hardly ever rains in Ireland but bring your wet weather gear just in case. Temperatures should be in the region of 13 to 20 deg C. Sunshine has been ordered. Most, if not all UKBEG events are held in perfect conditions - except for tomorrow's BBQ at Black Bear :D...
