Very funny but I'll take that as a 'no' then  .....FFS Steve the hourly rate you guys charge and you cant even manage the same equipement that independants have  ......maybe you should consider opening 7 days like every other HDB dealership in the UK

I must admit I was amazed/impressed that all the Lejog crew made the trip without incident but that doesn't detract from the FACT that XB wheel bearings are lucky to do 5K without failing......nothing to do with my opinion, a well documented, known fact on both sides of the pond.

Reckon Lil' Em was watching over you .......that's a crock re. you and your staff 'feeling' a problem on the road, you cant even feel the problem with the wheel free.....1st thing you'll 'feel' is the bearings collapsing

As far as I know, the problem is not the quality of the bearings but the size. Fitting an even higher quality bearing won't solve that. At any price.

Yep, the bearings Buell fit are top notch, as are the SKF/FAG replacements. I suspect they fit these bearings them in an effort to reduce unsprung weight in the wheels, which is a fine design objective 8-)

I think your right in what you're saying Nate, but in defence of BB, from what people say about them on this site, it's safe to assume that they are a highly reputable dealership that genuinely cares about its customers. If I didn't live the other side of the country from them, they'd certainly have my custom 8-)
However, I'm blessed that Maz and MchrHD are reasonably close.

Just for the record, I was not having a pop at BB. I was talking in general.
I don't know BB and so can not presume.

Ta :D Seen to have my moaning head on of late, not enough leg over and a leaking clutch master may have somert to do with it!

I used to read all the posts about knackered bearings, gearboxes etc and never paid much attention as I assumed that the bikes had been hammered or not looked after properly.
How wrong could I have been.
My bike has never been hammered and gets it's oils changed every 2500 miles but it's still fucked and I have changed my bearings 3 times in 20,000 miles including the headstock and swingarm ones.
