I needed new tyres, I already had a pair ready - so called the mechanic and booked it in.

Took the wheels off (what a job that is!), on my 18 month old 9000 mile XB12XT.
Checked the bearings and they were fubar'd.

I always take things I read on forums with a pinch of salt, even the words of the great and powerful

But in this case it appears that the bearing stories are true.

On a positive note,
Having the wheels out and no time or a blind puller I asked my man to do it, for the fitting of the tyres and the supply and fitting of the new bearings (FAG) to both wheels
£45.92, I won't be in a hurry to buy myself a blind puller!
