Isn't that the bike the Canadian journalist 'Avril Foujour' did an article on, exactly 4 months ago? :D

I wouldn't trust MCN to tell me what day of the week it was! :tosser:

It might be destined for the road, but surely more likely to be a one off or limited edition rather than a harbinger of returning to road bike production? :geek:

Nige. :couch:

No chance.......H-D own the patents etc. and even if they did release them, who would fund it, how/where would they be sold from etc. etc.

I imagine someone has bought one and modified it to be registered as a road legal 1125 or something

Erik can only build race 1125 and XB models 'under licence' from H-D at present. As Maz has said, all the tooling, patents etc are owned by H-D as are the engines. IF he was to start building road bikes again it would only be under a similar licence from H-D and I can't see that happening unless there is a change of leadership at the mother ship.
I think that this is just another 'spoof' Twitter release from EBR to keep interest in his bikes alive.

Would be good for the brand and maybe spares back up?, but any new bike would not be a nice unstiffled air-cooled lump like the one I have. :?

I'll just try to keep the old one, or one like it running as long as possible! ;)

AFAIK the no competion agreement was for a year - so probably from January - depends on when Erik signed on the dotted line, it may be sooner.

But I cannot see Erik going back into motorcycle production, chances are that anything that he designs in the future would infringe on the patents that HD owns - it would have to be something completely different and he would have to throw his own rule book out of the window - I would doubt any major backers would want to take the risk, knowing that they could be sued by Harley Davidson ... :(
