Hi all, more probs from the 06 uly, Engine cut out today 30 miles from home and put an end to my sunday adventure. :( Red lights on dash. Turned ignition off then when turned back on fuel pump was on off on off all the time.. Starter button was dead..Made sure all fuses were snug. Also no headlight, only parking light..Had a chat with Adam and agreed on a AA fix,, then, as if by magic, the intermittent pump noise stopped and bike started, so i got home. :D
Engine ran home fine but still no headligjts and neutral light comes on every time clutch is pulled in..
Any help much appreciated,
Cheers Paul.

Still love riding the bike but these electrical issues are painful.

Not an owner of an XB but I believe there can be issues with the wiring harness by the headstock. Chafes through???

Thanks for reply,

Ye, i rekon prob is prob in this aea..I think the design to squeeze any moisture from the harness with the fork on a full left lock is a bit flawed...

Also ulys are known to have a fuel pump wiring problem that can't be seen with the pump in situ. It has to be pulled to check for this. sorry to be the bearer of bad news. With the other lighting problems I'd check around the headstock first though

All the woes on my M1 were down to a poor earth diagnosed by :maz: , why don't you take it to the Emporium and actually get it fixed once and for all.

on a slight aside ..

my old XBR was under warranty when HD did a headlight recall
the main dealer put them in the wrong way around , even though they were clearly marked
left & right :headbang:
