Got the paddock stands in the post today. I've had the tyres fitted to the spare wheels. Just need to wait until a bit closer to the first track day, oh and buy a torque wrench, and I'll be independent of stealers :yup:

Did a dry run tonight, borrowed a torque wrench off a mate, printed out the instructions from the "how to" section, found all the tools I need and went through it in my head. I'll do the job tomorrow morning when it's (relatively) cooler, and I'm sober :P I've never been this anally retentive before, but in a few days I'll be hurtling round the track on it, so I'm taking no chances :!: :P

Front (LH thread as you know) or rear?

Have you undone the pinch bolts?

They can take a lot of shifting if they have not been copa-slipped together.

It's the rear, assuming there is only one pinch bolt, yes, it's out. That was pretty tough as well, as were the brake mounting bolts. No copa slip or anything in evidence anywhere

Get a big breaker bar on it then to get it turning. Watch that, when undoing the axle, the swinging arm doesn't spread, if it does, get a tie down strap across it to hold it together.

When you put it together, copa-slip is your friend...

Tried that, twisted off the lug that holds the socket on my ratchet :oooops: The socket is 1/2" drive, but I was using a 3/8" ratchet because it was the only one I could get the cheater bar over. I'll go and try and find someone with some decent tools :sad1:
